Celebrate Pizza Week!

Pizza is always a family favorite! It’s fun to make, you can use so many different toppings making sure that everyone in the family is happy! Here are some fun ways to make your pizza unique:

You’ll find lots of sauce options in the supermarket, but it’s easy to make your own, too.  To switch it up, try a Sicilian or garlic oil on top of your crust with Italian seasoning and diced tomatoes – it’s a delicious option! Having pizza for breakfast? Try a white gravy! Use barbecue sauce with chicken or beef for a fun alternative. Pesto makes a very unique and delicious pizza sauce.

Mozzarella is the standard pizza cheese. You can purchase shredded cheese, or get a block of cheese, freeze it for a few hours, and then shred for a fresh taste! You can also slice your mozzarella for a margherita-style pizza. Add other cheeses to switch it up a little! Add parmesan, goat, cheddar, havarti, swiss, anything you like. There are lots of vegan cheese options, too – there’s something for everyone!

Use fresh herbs on your pizza to add a delicious, bold flavor. Basil, oregano, parsley are favorites. If you like a little kick, add some red pepper flakes!

Pizza doesn’t have to mean pepperoni! There are lots of proteins to try on pizza – ground sausage or beef, shredded or diced chicken, Canadian bacon, impossible meat, or eggs (yes – make a breakfast pizza!)

This is a long list. Some of the most flavorful additions include fresh minced garlic, green pepper, mushrooms, olives (green and black), onions (caramelized, red, yellow), spinach or jalapenos. For an extra zip, try pineapple!

Get the whole family involved and have a fun pizza night!
