Not a fan of leafy greens? Try them in a green smoothie! You will mostly taste the fruit but still get all the health benefits of the leafy greens (such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants) without taking away the valuable fiber content (as with green juices).
Here’s the basic recipe which you can mix and match to suit your personal taste. The sky is the limit, so be as creative as you would like!
(Makes 1 adult serving or 2 kids servings.)
Basic Green Smoothie Recipe

1-2 cups liquid (ex: whole milk, skim milk, soy / almond / coconut / cashew milk, etc.) - 1-2 cups leafy greens (ex: spinach, kale, Swiss chard, arugula, Collard greens, etc.)
- 1-2 cups fruit (ex: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, banana, pineapple, mango, etc.)
- 1 scoop of protein booster (ex: Greek yogurt, whey protein, plant-based protein, silken tofu, hemp seeds, etc.)
- 1-2 Tbsp fat/fiber booster (ex: flax meal, chia seeds, walnuts, avocado, nut butter, etc.)
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients, blend until smooth and enjoy!
